Don't these eyes just mesmerize you? I love them! This little 7 month old did so well during our session. This is my all time favorite age to photograph. 6 & 7 month olds are just happy happy babies. Life is good when you are baby!

I want to introduce you to Blake. I had the pleasure of photographing Blake and his family a few weeks ago. Blake has a beautiful smile, a silly personality, loves chocolate ice cream, hates being cold, and has cancer. You would never know by his beautiful smile what he is going through. His battle is not over. He is constantly going to dr. appointments, going through test after test and receiving radiation.



Blake's mom, Georgia, is participating the The CureSearch Walk to raise fund for pediatric cancer. Cancer is bad enough and to add the word pediatric in front of it just makes it heartbreaking. PLEASE take a minute to go to Blake's link to help Georgia raise money for this great cause.

After my post earlier this week, I need to post something happier! So here is something to make you (and me) smile.....

I took this picture close to 5 months ago during a "Surprise Me" shoot. J's mom and dad wanted to find out the sex of their bun-in-the-oven in a unique way. They had the results of the sonogram sealed in an envelope. Then they packed 2 prop bags- one with girly stuff and one with boy stuff. I took J into a different room in the house and opened the results.... it's was a boy! So we played with the boy props and took lots of pictures. I turned the pictures into a gallery mount storyboard to announce the surprise! Within a week, their board was ready and they found out the results. The storyboard is now hanging in the new baby's nursery.... waiting for his arrival... in a few short weeks. I CAN'T WAIT!

I'm feeling sad | Cherished Memories Photography

It has been a tough week. I lost my wonderful wonderful grandfather last Wednesday. It has been a sad time for my family as we selfishly greive. I say selfishly because it was truly his time and he is now resting comfortably. The pastor who conducted the service yesterday, who is also one of our cousins, made the most incredible statement. He talked about how death came as a friend to my grandfather. That is so true.

I have been reflecting all week on my life- just thinking about how blessed my life is. I wanted to pick up my camera and start taking pictures of everything around me that I am blessed with. Of course, the first thing I turned to was my baby girl. Just being her beautiful, silly, incredible self. It was funny, in a way, how much I needed my daughter this week. I needed her hugs, her love, her goofiness, her kisses, and her attention. I needed her to snap me back to reality when I wanted to just be sad. It was a realization to me how much I need her everyday. I love photographing her playing in her playroom. I laughed at these pictures after I loaded them. While I was needing her so much, she just needed her best friends- her passy, 2 Taggies blankets, her mouse and her Taggies frog we call "Silly Frog".

What did I do to deserve my amazing husband, my beautiful daughter, my 2nd baby girl due in 7 weeks, and all of my blessings? I am truly lucky and I thank my lucky stars for everyone in my life. I can honestly stand by my photography name- Cherished Memories.
